TESTS THAT ARE MUCH NEEDED FOR EVERY DIABETIC PERSON
LETS KNOW ABOUT NEGLECTED TEST THAT ARE MUCH NEEDED FOR EVERY CHRONIC DIABETIC PERSON OTHER THAN BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITERING.
DIABETES
1. EYE EXAMINATION

Chronic uncontrolled diabetes can damage your eyes by causing RETINAL DILATATION, GLAUCOMA, CATARACT, and if left unchecked to PERMANENT BLINDNESS also.
Every person suffering from Diabetes Must undergo YEARLY OPHTHALMOLOGICAL EXAMINATION.
2. PODAL EXAMINATION

Due to INCREASED BLOOD SUGAR, POORLY CONTROLLED DIABETES, NERVE DAMAGE, and POOR WOUND HEALING leading to DIABETIC FOOT AND DIABETIC ULCERS that increases the risk of FOOT GANGRENE and even AMPUTATION.
To counter that, you should undergo QUARTERLY PODIATRISTS EXAMINATION done by your doctor.
3. LIPID PROFILE

Every diabetic has increased bad cholesterol ( VLDL, LDL, IDL ) and decreased good cholesterol (HDL ) that can aggravate your complications, causing an increase in your blood pressure.
For that, keep your total cholesterol checked ONCE IN A MONTH and take regular medications and precautions if it's uncontrolled as advised by your doctor.
4. COMPLETE BLOOD PROFILE
During diabetes, your body's ability to produce new Blood cells get decreased due to multiple factors (Decreased absorption of iron with Vitamin B12 and other co-factors needed for erythrogenesis from your gut )
This Anemia (low blood cells ) can be a major problem in controlling your blood glucose.
One is advised to get COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT checked once in a MONTH.
And on top of that keep on consuming your MULTIVITAMINS and other medications if the above are deranged.
5. REGULAR BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING

YOUR INCREASED BLOOD GLUCOSE IS A SLOW POISON but INCREASED BLOOD PRESSURE CAN TAKE YOUR LIFE WITHIN SECONDS, IF LEFT UNCONTROLLED.
If you are HYPERTENSIVE and having an UNCONTROLLED SUGAR, it's advised to keep a check on your BLOOD PRESSURE TWICE A DAY.
Take your anti-Hypertensive medications regularly and always consult your physician in case of any problem.
6. COMPLETE RENAL PROFILE
Almost all diabetic people with uncontrolled blood glucose eventually progress to RENAL FAILURE.
For that, one should
A. CONTROL BLOOD PRESSURE
B. DO QUARTERLY URINARY MICROALBUMINURIA
C. DO YEARLY URINARY MICROALBUMIN / CREATININE RATIO
and always consult your physician in case of any positive report.
7. CHECK FOR ANY NEUROPATHIES
If you are suffering from TINGLING SENSATION WITH NUMBNESS IN YOUR ARMS AND LEGS, this could be a sign of neuropathy (nerve injury -common in uncontrolled chronic diabetic cases).
